“I am going to win the 2017 Junior Saloon Car Championship!”
Pembrey 23rd July 2017
We recently had a chat with Will Dyrdal at Pembrey Circuit. Will currently leads the Junior Saloon Car Championship with a margin of just 3 points.
Q: What is your competitive motorsport experience to date?
I did karting for 2 years, Club and National and I’m in my second year of racing with the JSCC.
Q: Why move from karts to cars?
Because Karting was just becoming far too expensive and I’m quite tall so it wasn’t proving very competitive for me personally.
Q: What has been the lowest point in your motorsport career so far and how did you overcome this?
Breaking down on circuit in the first round of the JSCC this year at Silverstone – I was in the lead!
Q: What has been the highest point in your motorsport career so far?
Without doubt my double win in the JSCC this year at Snetterton. it was such an amazing feeling.
How do you manage to juggle study and racing commitments successfully?
I’m now at college and they are quite happy for me to take time off to race as long as I keep up to date with my work. I’m doing a motorsport course, which helps.
Q: Do you think there is any opportunity to improve junior motorsport in any way to encourage more junior racers?
Give concessions to junior race entries, its expensive to race in the UK.
Q: What are your goals this season?
I’m going to win the JSCC 2018!!!
Q: Future plans? What are you long term goals in motorsport?
I’d like to make it as far as I possibly can in Motorsport.
