The Ginetta Junior Championship is the longest running junior series in the UK. It offers 14 -17year olds their first step onto the motorsport ladder in the multi disciplined Ginetta G40.
In their role as a supporting championship to the British Touring Car Championship Ginetta junior racers have a massive trackside audience kick starting their racing career with the intensive media exposure loved by sponsors, including live itv4 coverage plus racers are provided with PR and social media guidance to help maximise their media potential.
The 26 round championship is played out over 10 race weekends ensuring plenty of track time and includes 5 exclusive Ginetta test days. There is a separate Rookie class for first year drivers and tight technical controls ensure parity with the competing cars. Testing and tyre restrictions are also in place to control budget.
The motorsport world has seen many Ginetta Juniors graduate into championships such as the BTCC, British GT, Formula Renault 2.0, British F3 and F4 and Asian Le Mans Series. Names include Lando Norris, Sennan Fielding, Dino Zamparelli, Charlie Roberston, Tom Ingram, Seb Morris, Will Palmer and Max Coates.
Ginetta Junior Championship prizes are highly contested and for the overall champion the loan of a Ginetta G55 GT4 car is provided for use in the Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup. Plus the Rookie Champion receives free entry into the following Ginetta Junior Championship season.
